An update on the ADHD chronicles: the first medication did NOT work and just made me severely anxious with incredibly dry eyes. Laundry is still not put away and I'm still going down rabbit holes until 1 AM. You win some, you lose some?

Mascara rec: Maybelline Sky High (only $10!!). I have brown eyes and wear the burgundy one (it matches my hair, which is kind of fun), but if you have hazel or green-blue eyes, I’m BEGGING you to try the green.
Nike P-6000s: Finally got a pair (sue me, I love shoes) and they’re great. Zero time required to break them in, and they’re flat enough to work out in (I always say proceed with caution when squatting in super cushiony shoes, so it’s nice these can go from lifestyle to the gym). I still love my New Balance 9060s, but find these to be more versatile.
Jam of the week: 12 to 12 by sombr. I cannot stop listening to it- it has a sort of Michael Jackson-y vibe through the intro and feels more unique than most pop music coming out lately.

Some good news (I do have my eye on colon cancer though, which is supposedly increasing recently):
50 things I wish I knew sooner: this style of post is largely hit or miss, but this one is a banger. I’ve been mulling on a few of these all week and deemed it very, very worthy of sharing. Exhibit A: “If it’s really the path, you’ll find it more than once.”

Remember having to run a timed mile in 8th grade wearing your first ever sports bra while in the same first period PE class as your crush? Just me? Anyways, after a hiatus, the Presidential Fitness Test is back, so now all of the youths can create their own version of this core memory of mine. Prayers up for them.
All jokes aside, this is definitely a good thing. Rising inactivity rates are tough to combat when they’re caught too late, so a standard with something like this doesn’t hurt (when executed correctly).Coming to a shelf near you this September: REESE’S OREOS! You read that right. The collab of my dreams is coming to life. The Oreos will start off as limited edition, but they have plans to add them to the permanent line-up next year.

The the whole cheating-scandal-thing at that Coldplay concert has now left the news cycle, so guess what has taken its place? Justin Trudeau, the former Prime Minister of Canada yes the hot one, was seen at a Katy Perry concert last week after having dinner with her. But can Justin rock a platinum blonde wig as well as her ex?
Kamala Harris announced that she wrote a book, 107 Days, about her presidential campaign. While I probably won’t read it given my condition (attention span of a Golden Retriever puppy), I am curious how she wrote an entire book on it? I’m always interested in the whole “post-election/career-to-author” pipeline. Like is it cathartic for them? Is it a cash grab? Both? Who knows.

Some hot weather work staples:
This one is so comfy I bought it in grey and red, and it’s only $13!!! A steal! Also, it’s thick enough and has the right kind of arm holes where you don’t have to wear a tank top.
A little 90’s-esque moment. Cowl necks are hit or miss for me, but the material is SO SOFT and it meets the no-tank-top-required criteria, so I kept it.
The shirt you’ve probably seen everywhere- the Paloma top. H&M’s version worked great for me, but this one was on my shortlist.
Thank you to the reader who informed me the Tobie top I want actually comes in an entire collection!! (but also, why is it so expensive)
A pair of $20 low heels so you can look a little fancy without wrecking your ankles
Bonus: A bright, flowy cotton skirt that’s actually work-friendly.

Signing off shaking off the horrors of middle school P.E. class,
Kate
P.S. If you enjoyed this, send it to your friend who eats Oreos like a freak (looking at you, frosting lickers). If you didn’t, send it to your friend who thought he had a chance with Katy Perry.
