Why am I watching a 23 year old bodybuilder grocery shop??

I know this is going to be a deeply unrelatable take, but I just need to get this off my chest. I watch at least two hours a week of YouTube videos of a 23-year-old bodybuilder named Sam Sulek. Why? Unclear. I don’t eat six pounds of ground beef a day. I’m not on steroids (shocking, I know). But his grocery hauls? Amazing. His car chats? Mesmerizing and relaxing. My brain is potentially broken, but if you too need to watch a man consume 5,000 calories of plain food a day, I know the guy for you!!!

• 🍒 Making chocolate cherry latte chia pudding for breakfast this week- sounds super indulgent but it’s healthy and has tons of ✨fiber✨ which we all need more of

  • 🧻 Speaking of fiber- let’s talk about toilet paper!! Who Gives A Crap makes my favorite TP- they have a great product AND donate 50% of their profits to clean water + sanitation projects!

• 🍪 SWEET LOREN’S!!! if you have somebody in your life that is gluten free/dairy free or vegan, TELL THEM ABOUT SWEET LOREN’S! The only items I can speak to are their break-and-bake cookies, but all of the ones i have tried are amazing. Gluten free and dairy free has no business being this good.

  • If you have a Trader Joe’s nearby and are a heathen who prefers raw cookie dough (same), their GF chocolate chip dough is also bonkers delicious.

• 💄 Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty is happening, which means half-off deals on fancy makeup and skincare. BUT let me preface this with a hard rule: don’t buy things just because they’re on sale. Great time to buy something you already use or had your eye on, not to panic-buy a serum you don’t need just because it’s 50% off. I’ll be getting the First Aid Beauty exfoliating pads (on sale today- good for ~gentle~ exfoliation), but staying strong against the urge to 'stock up' or try a bunch of random sh*t.

• 👩🏻‍🔬 There seems to be so much panic about AI taking over that we forget that it does really cool things (sometimes). Like detecting breast cancer in dense breast tissue when normal mammograms miss it, which is wild considering regular mammograms are only 30% accurate for some women. This could be huge for early detection!!!

• 🌎 On a completely different but also science-y note: the ozone layer is healing!! Turns out the world actually CAN work together- starting in the 80s everybody decided CFCs (chlorofluorocarbon, aka what was found in the hairspray your mom wore to senior prom) were ruining the planet. So they largely got banned and it… worked? Feels like a great reminder that regulations can sometimes be good and that people can come together to fix things.

• 🍝 Man locks girlfriend and her daughter in hotel room for eating his alfredo sauce, police say- Yes, that’s a real headline.

• ✋🏻 Millie Bobby Brown shut down journalists ripping into her appearance- yes, that’s a real thing happening. The Daily Mail literally published a piece titled ‘Why are Gen Zers like Millie Bobby Brown aging so badly?’ Hats off to Millie for reminding them that women age and that’s… normal!!!

  • Also- apparently her real name is actually Millie Bonnie Brown?!

The moral of this week: AI is kind of cool, the ozone layer is thriving, and Sam Sulek is living on pure protein powder and positivity. See you next week!!
