• Nightmare fuel- I feel like everybody is watching Demi Moore’s new movie, The Substance (I linked the trailer because, per usual, I would butcher the description). It looks like an insane representation of how beauty standards have gotten out of hand. I will not be watching it because it’s a horror film and I already live my life in fear and suspense, but I feel like I should bring it up in case you take spooky season seriously.

• Buttery smooth- your new favorite shower item, Athena Club’s shave oil. My snowflake ass skin doesn’t get irritated from shaving with this. I wish it wasn’t in a plastic bottle, but a win is a win.

• Swiss Miss kiss- Glossier went back to their original formula for Balm Dotcom (they had a phase where they made it vegan and people were ticked off because it sucked) and it’s great again. Specifically recommend the limited edition hot cocoa one because it has a slight tint to it, so when I wear it I feel like I look like less of a dead Victorian child (especially when paired with Merit’s flush balm in persimmon).

• Jam of the week- Tell Me Where To Go by Bungalow Collect + others (it’s Disco Rap = super funky and cool)

• Lana Del Rey married Jeremy Dufrene, an alligator tour guide from Louisiana, which proves that a guy with rizz (charisma) cannot be beat. It’s not all about the $$$- sorry finance bros. (I am also selfishly looking forward to the new music that comes out of her newfound cajun life)

• Port workers are set to strike soon, so this is my PSA to stock up on bananas (one of the foods we will have a shortage on when this happens- you can slice and freeze them so your morning smoothie doesn’t miss out)

• Unexpected flooding last week absolutely demolished Asheville, NC and surrounding areas- consider donating to relief if you can spare some dollars. Donation guidance here.
